We help women...
Angela Aitken, PT, DPT
Hi, I'm Dr. Angie! I am a Holistic Health Practitioner + Doctor of Physical Therapy and work one-on-one with women at any age or stage in their own homes (in-person and online) using natural methods + cutting edge treatments to help them feel strong and pain-free to live a life they love.
I offer direct primary care so you can come straight to me for your musculoskeletal or women's health issues. See what conditions we can help you with here (click).
Whether it's supporting your family, exercising, working outside or in the garden, getting ready to have a baby (or recovering), taking care of littles, being a boss babe, doing DIY and craft projects, spending time with family and friends, or just being able to enjoy life, being in pain, feeling tired, weak, or just "off" can have a major impact.
As a homeschool mom of three, I know first-hand the demands a woman's body goes through. I've definitely had my share of ups and downs including back injuries, plantar fasciitis, birthing injuries, and chronic pain & illness (mold-related illness, Lyme, EBV, HPA-axis dysfunction...). And I know how hard it is to keep up with life when you feel weak, broken, and hopeless. I also have been disappointed in finding good help to support true healing rather than the traditional "bandaid," "take a million pills," or surgical approach. So I wanted to help women on their own health journeys...to help them get strong for real life without being told they have to feel worse or deal with side effects to get better. And I want to help you feel in control of your health without feeling bullied into doing something by an "expert."
A Nashville native, I now serve women in the Chattanooga/Ooltewah, TN and surroundings areas.
I graduated with a B.S. in Health Science from Southern Adventist University in the Chattanooga area, and then went on to complete my Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from Belmont University in Nashville.
I have extensive training in whole body alignment and gentle, therapeutic hands-on treatment techniques to release restrictions (joint, muscle, bone, organs, myofascia), soothe pain, and refresh your body so it can heal more quickly and fully. In addition, I have years of study and experience in lifestyle medicine and holistic, natural health methods to restore total balance for overall health for both chronic and acute conditions.
I also completed Restorative Exercise Specialist-Certified Personal Trainer and Healthy Foot Practitioner training through Nutritious Movement's (Whole Body Alignment) program with Biomechanist Katy Bowman. I believe movement is one of the best ways to support our bodies to stay healthy and nourished, and that it can be used to target and treat specific problems as well.
After owning a mobile physical therapy practice in Nashville for 6 years, I'm excited to be back in Ooltewah to bring my services to women who want a holistic, non-invasive approach for health, strengthening, and pain relief in the comfort of their own home, office, or gym.
So you can be your best you!

I offer home and virtual visits for my clients because I like to keep things simple. It's simpler for me to work behind-the-scenes from home (homeschool mama) than to go to an office somewhere. It keeps it simple for you because I do the travel time, traffic, waiting for trains, climbing stairs, and walking in the rain so you don't have to! You don't even have to find a babysitter or get out of your cozies to go to your appointment! I come to your space (in-person or virtually), bringing everything you need for whole health so you can get back to feeling like you again.
It is my desire to support your health in every stage of their journey. I know how tricky it can be to balance work, exercise, taking care of family, and life in general, so if I can take even one worry off your plate, I'm happy to do so.
I truly value you as a whole person and will not see you as your diagnosis. I am highly skilled in natural, holistic health, orthopedics, and obstetrics physical therapy, and will bring my best to meet your needs. I am a bit of a health nut, so if there's a healthy, natural, and practical way of doing something, I make it my business to know about it. That means drug-free, non-invasive, non-side effect treatment for every woman. I'm also a productivity ninja, so if you're having trouble finding time for exercise and healthy habits, I will sit down with you to figure out how to make it happen...without extra stress or missing out on the important things in life!
I'm also a big fan of DIY (projects and health). I believe in empowering you to understand your body and how to fix it if something comes up. So if there's a technique we do and there's a way you can do it yourself, I'm going to teach it to you. If it's more relaxing for me to do it for you, that's cool too! Sometimes it's nice to be taken care of.
I appreciate you welcoming me into your home and will not judge, compare you with other clients, or rush you, but will encourage and support you through your ups and downs. I'm excited to join you on your health journey! Go ahead and contact me to see how I can help. I look forward to working with you!
